Our mission is to care for women’s wellbeing.
Gynaecare Victoria® is a Victorian based gynaecological practice, located in Melbourne.
We provide specialised and general gynaecological care.
Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeons
More complex surgeries can now be performed laparoscopically, with many benefits.
Multidisciplinary Approach
Especially important for complex pelvic pain and endometriosis.
In depth assessments for women
Always.
We will navigate with our patients the best management plan for their particular situation and guide them through difficult decisions such as: when to do surgery; what type of surgery; when to refer for fertility treatment such as IVF/egg freezing etc.
We are surgeons who listen and care.
Dr Claudia Cheng
MBBS, Dip Obs, FRANZCOG
Dr Claudia Cheng is dedicated to treating women with endometriosis and pelvic pain. She has over ten years of consultant and surgical experience in the field.
She understands both pelvic pain (the problem) and endometriosis (the disease) are extremely complex and require specialised skills, patience, and attention to detail to manage both well. As an advanced Level 6 laparoscopic surgeon, she routinely operates on the most severe stage 4 endometriosis.
In addition to her clinical and surgical work, Claudia is very active in research, teaching and mentoring. She has published many prospective trials on endometriosis, pelvic pain and bladder pain syndrome. She also operates within the endometriosis focused unit of Gynaecology 2 and the Chronic Pelvic Pain Clinic at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne.
Claudia is on the board of examiners at RANZCOG (Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists) where she is also a training supervisor. She is a training supervisor for AGES (Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery) Society as well. In addition, Claudia holds honorary clinical senior lecturer position as well as examiner role at the University of Melbourne.
Dr Claudia Cheng is devoted to providing holistic gynaecological and advanced surgical care for all her patients.
Dr Charlotte Reddington
MBBS, BMedSci, FRANZCOG
Dr Charlotte Reddington became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) in February 2019. In February 2020 she completed a two year full time fellowship – the Australasian Gynaecogloical Endoscopy and Surgery (AGES) Society accredited fellowship – in advanced gynaecological laparoscopy at the Royal Women’s Hospital (RWH).
Having been the fellow for the RWH pelvic pain and endometriosis unit for two years, she recognises the need to have specialists who are dedicated to these issues affecting so many women. The complicated issue of pelvic pain requires compassionate and holistic care, as well as expert surgical management when required.
Dr Charlotte Reddington holds consultant (VMO) positions at both the Royal Women’s Hospital (Gynaecology 1 and 2 Units) and the Mercy Hospital for Women (Endosurgery A & B Units). She continues to run and partake in several clinical research trials in endometriosis and minimally invasive surgery and enjoys her role of researcher and teacher in addition to being a surgeon and clinician. Working across these major tertiary teaching hospitals, Charlotte offers comprehensive and up to date gynaecological care.
Charlotte has chosen to specialise in gynaecology with interest areas of pelvic pain, endometriosis and advanced gynaecological laparoscopy. This is what she is passionate about. She takes pride in excellent communication with her patients, their families and with all clinicians involved in a patient’s care.
